Over a year ago, we embarked on our rebrand journey with K Brand Studios, a design studio based in Boise, Idaho, and run by the talented Kristin McCleerey. I was a bit overwhelmed as I knew this was going to be a big undertaking. I wanted to change everything. Literally everything.
I bought Paper Fling over two years ago, and knew from the start there would be some brand tweaks I wanted to make in order for the company to really have the look and feel I wanted. Turns out, as I dove deeper into the day-to-day operations and how we were showing up to our clients, I knew a lot more work needed to be done than I originally thought. This wasn’t to say the Paper Fling brand wasn’t a good one. It just wasn’t mine. I wanted to build something that truly represented who we are as designers, and the type of work we love creating for our clients.
So what exactly changed? A LOT.
BUSINESS NAME
This was the biggest and scariest undertaking, by far. When I bought Paper Fling, it felt like I was running someone else’s company, rather than running my own. It was something I inherited, including the name. I wanted a fresh start and something that was an accurate representation of who we are as a brand, and the work we were creating.
What does Westwood mean? Simply put, it’s a combination of several things dear to my heart! The Pacific Northwest has always been home and where my dream of entrepreneurship began. It’s where I bought this little biz. Although not all of our finished products are on paper, I wanted to incorporate a nod to the tangible aspect of our work. Paper in it’s simplest form comes from wood, and from that, Westwood Creative Co. was born
LOGO & COLOR PALETTE
Kristin at K Brand Studios pulled together a fresh logo design and color palette for us that we fell in love with. Why hire a designer, if that’s literally the work I do on a daily basis?! Well, truth be told, it can be a daunting task to design something for yourself. It’s easy to put work for your own business on the back-burner and get overcritical of the output. Not to mention, designing a website and designing wedding invitations are two very different beasts. I wanted an unbiased set of eyes to spearhead my vision. Also, time is money and this was a worthwhile business investment in my book.
WEBSITE
We really needed an overhaul in this department. Again, we worked with Kristin and her dev team to give our website a major facelift, incorporating our new brand palette. We added several new navigations that showcase the story of our business and help our clients find the products their looking for.

This is an exciting time for us that marks a new beginning in many ways. The start of something that truly feels like our own. I am so grateful for the support from our amazing clients and fellow wedding vendors. We wouldn’t be living this little dream if it weren’t for all of you!
Thanks for following along on our rebrand journey. Stay tuned as we have several new product offerings including our semi-custom line that is currently in the works!
