I get asked a lot about the process of custom invitations and the invitation timeline. So, I thought I would write a quick post to fill you in on our process so that you can be prepared and informed!
DESIGN MEETING
The client’s initial design meeting will take place over the phone or in person at our studio in Kirkland, WA. At this meeting you and your designer will discuss your design ideas, colors, graphics and invitation timeline. You will receive a quote via email from your designer following the meeting which will break down the pricing.
PLACE YOUR ORDER
If everything looks good on your quote, we require a 50% non-refundable retainer to kick off the design process and begin your order. You’ll also receive our client service agreement and wording worksheets. Your designer will also email you over any additional resources you may need such as font options, address templates, etc.
PROOFING PROCESS
We include an extensive proofing process with our custom designs, including 4 rounds of digital proofs. Your initial digital proof will be emailed within 5 business days of wording worksheet submittal. Make sure to pay attention to details – colors, grammar, dates/times, etc. You are responsible for giving us the final sign off before we go to print. The invitation timeline may change based on how quickly you do or don’t approve proofs!
FINAL APPROVAL
Once your proof is perfect, it is time to give us your final approval. You will need to give us a final quantity as well as your guest addresses (if you have ordered address printing) at this time. We require the remaining 50% payment at this time in order to move your order into production.
ORDER COMPLETION
Once your order is approved, we will begin the printing and production process. When the order is complete, you can either pick up at our Kirkland office (for local clients) or we’re happy to ship your order.
